Ventilation is important – for good indoor air and to prevent mold. But heat is also lost through open windows, and this is currently very expensive. Here you have several tips on how to achieve the best room temperature to enjoy Bizzo Casino to the fullest.
Mistake 1: Too little ventilation
Mostly too little is aired, above all if it is cold outside. But airing is necessary: On the one hand, it lowers the CO2 content in the air, and on the other, it ensures less humidity. And humidity can cause various damages, sometimes mold on the walls. Especially if less heating is used to save heating costs, ventilation is particularly important.
The expert points out that moisture does not enter the apartment from outside, as is often assumed. Mostly it develops actually inside, for example by the respiration of the inhabitant:inside, sweating, showering, cooking, laundry drying or by house plants.
WHAT ELSE TO KEEP IN MIND
Mistake 2: Adhere to too rough guidelines
All kinds of guidelines circulate for airing. Some websites recommend airing for four minutes twice a day, others advice more frequent, longer or shorter intervals. The expert is skeptical of these indications. By the way, a time specification can only be a rough guide.
Because how often and how long must be aired depends on various factors, for example: How much moisture is in the apartment – for example, are there a particularly large number of houseplants or do the occupants shower several times a day? And how windy and cold is it outside? Low temperatures and wind allow for a rapid exchange of air.
So how do you know when to ventilate and for how long? A commercially available hygrometer is recommended for this purpose. The device is available for a few euros in hardware stores and measures the relative humidity, which should ideally be between 40 and 60 percent. Then the risk of mold is low, but not zero. Finally, there are other factors that promote mold, such as poor insulation.
If the hygrometer shows higher values than 60 over longer periods, the risk of mold increases. Then one would have to ventilate more. Alternatively, you can use a humidity sensor. This looks similar to a check card and displays the temperature and gives a rough estimate of the humidity.
WHAT ABOUT DOORS?
You should not keep the door to unheated rooms open.
Actually, it seems logical: if you don’t heat certain rooms – to save energy or because there is no heating in the corresponding rooms – you simply leave the door to the heated adjacent room open. In this way, the cold room should be at least partially warmed.
But with warm air, humidity is also transferred. “You thus create a mold risk that did not exist before.” It is therefore advised to keep the doors closed to rooms that are not heated or only partially heated.
